Technical Administrator – Leicester Office

Technical Administrator Responsibilities

  • Provide full technical administration support to the QS Commercial Team delivering insurance related projects.
  • Working flexibly within a wider administrative team to provide general administration support and a variety of clerical and related tasks to support the needs of the business
  • Managing instructions from clients and confirming acceptance
  • Collating relevant data and keeping instructions log up to date
  • Setting up project template for each instruction and populating key data, including site plans, photos and text
  • In conjunction with the Insurance Team Leader allocating projects to surveyors and monitoring progress with each instruction
  • Checking completed reports – mathematical, spelling and formatting
  • Creating final pdf reports including covers and issuing to clients
  • Updating instruction log and authorising issue of invoice
  • Treating all clients and colleagues to an excellent level of service

Technical Administrator Requirements

  • Friendly and positive disposition
  • Methodical with excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Good standard of English
  • Strong verbal communication and influencing skills

Associate Level Quantity Surveyor – Leicester Office

Associate Level Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities

  • Working with the Directors as part of the Senior Management Team to ensure the success of the business in all aspects including, but not limited to: quality of service, timely delivery of service, development and happiness of all staff, and profitability
  • Working independently and taking responsibility for the successful delivery of an extensive programme of specialist insurance work including Reinstatement Cost Assessments, Repair Cost Validations and pricing Repair Schedules
  • Attending Senior Management Meetings as required and actively seeking to get in involved in and take responsibility for business management opportunities, such as Business Development; HR; Quality Management; Training and Education; IT; Offices / facilities / equipment; Professional Standards (RICS, BCIS, NBS etc.); Investors in People etc
  • Working with the Directors to set targets for each Associate Team and managing the team in such a way to deliver these targets
  • Acting as Line Manager for all personnel within their Associate Team. Taking personal responsibility for managing and motivating all team members to deliver their best service
  • Helping all team members to identify their strengths and weaknesses and help them to develop and achieve a plan to reach their own personal career goals
  • Taking responsibility for allocated Key Client Accounts, building a relationship with the Key Client(s), ensuring complete satisfaction with RJA services, and nurturing new work opportunities

  • Experience of successfully managing a team of people
  • Experience of business development, marketing and networking and a willingness to actively win new work for the practice
  • Proficiency in measurement, ideally using CostX Measurement Software
  • Experience in running large, complex projects independently
  • Strategically minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Assistant Quantity Surveyor – Nottingham Office

Assistant Quantity Surveyor Responsibilities

  • Assisting with all pre-contract and post contract surveying services on a range of construction projects
  • Actively looking to take on additional responsibility and able to stand in for the Project QS or Senior QS when they are unavailable, and to start running and leading on your own projects with some supervision
  • Taking responsibility for successfully completing all allocated QS and PM tasks to a high degree of accuracy
  • Assisting with Employer’s Agent services on Design and Build Projects and assuming the principal EA role where possible
